Flyers Grab Important Win At Lambton -

They certainly had the best costumes at the party and for the Leamington Flyers showing the Lambton Shores Predators how to play hockey on Halloween night was the most important thing.

The final score was 5-1 in Leamington's favor. The Flyers have been playing rather well for most of their recent games and head coach Greg Trojand had them in fine shape against the Predators.

Veteran Nick Butts and Spencer VanBuskirk led the way for the Flyers as each tabbed a goal and an assist while defenseman Tyler Raymont added a goal.

Butts opened the scoring two minutes into the first when he converted VanBuskirk's passwork. After surrendering a powerplay goal to Lambton late in the frame, Tyler Raymont shovelled in the go-ahead goal as Butts laid the groundwork.

Shots on net in the first were fairly even, but it was all Leamington in the second as the Flyers pounded 17 shots on the Lambton net, yet only reaped one tally. That marker came when VanBuskirk scored on a feed from Steve Kruk. Despite the Flyers dominating the Predators in the second, they did lose Marco Canzoneri and Kyle Fiorini to checking-from-behind penalties and Brett Babkirk sat out a 10 minute misconduct. In more recent games the Flyers have appeared more confident and if Saturday's game is any indication coach Greg Trojand has his players starting to play effectively both offensively and defensively. The road win now gives the Flyers a 2-8-2 mark away from home and leaves them with a record of 3-115-2 after 20 games. SCHEDULE: Thurs. Nov. 5 - vs LaSalle 7:10 pm ("Pink On The Rink") Sun. Nov. 8 - @ CHatham 7 pm
